Amanda Seymour
All my professional life has been, and still is, within the commercial creative environment, so returning to painting is a step away from those confines. My passion is for the natural landscapes around us, with a desire to capture a moment of light, dark, warmth or chill within that scene. As a studio painter I work mainly from my many reference photographs. I do strive to paint or sketch Plein Air when and where I can. I find when I do, I work much quicker, creating a looser style work with energy and vigour, something I want to develop further. Working predominantly in watercolours, I am becoming more familiar with acrylics and the nuances of the medium for capturing my intent.
