Bev Morton

Bev is a mixed-media artist living in Thornton. She is a studio holder and a member of Unit 9, a collective of artists based at South Square.
Her mixed media abstracted landscape paintings use layers of acrylic paint, mono-printing, collage and sometimes, the subtle imprints of foliage. Bev works from a place of experimentation, to communicate the mood, feeling and atmosphere of being in the Yorkshire landscape.
Intentional and ‘accidental’ mark-making are essential elements of her practice. Importantly however, Bev seeks to provide space for the viewer to interpret what they in turn uniquely see and feel.
Over the past five years, Bev has exhibited at Our Turn (part of Bradford 2025), Saltaire Arts Trail, The Crafthouse in Bingley, Studio Vault Gallery in Settle, Dean Clough in Halifax and The Apothecary, and South Square Gallery.
Her as yet untitled up and coming exhibition at The Crafthouse in Bingley (30th March - 28th June 26) is providing an opportunity to scale up her mixed-media paintings.
Bev is also one of the founders of the Thornton Arts Trail.
