Helen Jones
My name is Helen Jones, I live in Queensbury and work from my studio in Dean Clough, Halifax. Since retiring from the NHS I have completed a BA(Hons) in Painting, studying with the Open College of the Arts. Following graduation in 2024 I have continued to develop my work with mentorship via the renowned Turps Correspondence Course.
My process of making a painting is an intuitive one, working with my materials to create the sensations I experience in life and nature. Acrylic paint, ink and sometimes collage and dry media are layered together on canvas or wood often resulting in vibrant and joyful abstracted images.
