I am inspired by both the natural and artificial worlds so usually carry a small sketchbook to catch the landscape, seascape or building that interests me. l was brought up by the sea so although Thornton is pretty much land locked my work often has some sort of nautical influence. However, basically I just like making “stuff” and will use whatever is to hand but feel most at home with a pencil or paintbrush in my hand. l am currently, enjoying the progress l have made, of late, in refocusing on my drawing skills, as well as a experimenting with wire sculpture which is a new venture for me.
